Landscape Photography monochrome (Page 1) |

The differences between colour and black and white photography are nowhere more evident than in the landscape genre. There are two pages devoted to monochrome only. Other pages are devoted to the landscape in colour. To go to these pages click on the links to the left. The Australian landscape is geologically very old and while it may lack the spectacular mountain scenery of newer landforms it has extraordinary variety from tropical rainforest to arid deserts. Vegetation has adapted to subtle differences in local climates and geology to create many different habitat types. The landscape photography on this web site is a result of many years of exploring the ecological diversity of my own country and a few photographic forays to other parts of the world. Although its primary purpose is to provide professional exposure to potential clients this site also exists to champion the landscape and it's place in our understanding of ourselves. I've had the privilege of working closely with indigenous Australians within their landscape and am deeply impressed with the way the landscape defines their identity. All of us, however, are inspired, humbled and uplifted by the natural landscape. Hence the popularity of landscape photography. My photographic style is not overtly "arty" but seeks to capture something of the landscape that moves us out of our everyday world and into a higher realm. The copyright on all photographs is owned by myself and the images are for sale as prints or single use reproduction rights. Contact: Bruce Cowell at BrcCow@aol.com |
